An IQ test in the UK: the four ways to get a score, what each costs in pounds, and which ones count

0 The short answer

In the UK, the right IQ test depends on what you need the result for. British Mensa offers supervised admission testing; a qualified psychologist can assess a clinical or educational question; NHS assessment follows clinical need and local pathways; documented online batteries can support personal exploration. Those routes produce different evidence and are not interchangeable. Before paying, ask the organization receiving the result which qualifications, test edition and report it requires. Check the current provider price and distinguish a professionally supervised remote assessment from an unsupervised quiz.

1 What an IQ Test in the UK Actually Means: Four Routes and Four Words

The phrase IQ test UK sorts into four routes once you ask who will read the score, and four words on the provider pages tell you which route you are looking at: supervised, chartered, registered and normed. Supervised means a second person watched the administration, either in a room or through a webcam. Mensa International states on its testing FAQ page that membership is open to people who scored in the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that was properly administered and supervised. Unsupervised home tests and practice quizzes should not be confused with an approved admission assessment. British Mensa explicitly offers a supervised online route, so the word online alone does not determine eligibility.

Chartered and registered describe the examiner, and in the UK they are two different things. The Health and Care Professions Council, the statutory regulator, explains in its note on the regulation of psychologists that the word psychologist is not by itself protected by law. Nine titles are protected, including clinical psychologist, educational psychologist and practitioner psychologist, and using one of them without registration is a criminal offence. The British Psychological Society, a membership body, confers the separate title of Chartered Psychologist and publishes a Directory of Chartered Psychologists that lists members offering services to the public. Where a practitioner uses a protected title, the appropriate HCPC registration is required; chartered status is not a substitute. Instrument purchasing eligibility follows the publisher's own qualification policy.

Normed describes how performance is interpreted relative to a reference group. The group's composition, recruitment, eligibility, age treatment and scoring method determine which comparisons are supported. Reliability is separate evidence that should also be examined; the word normed does not guarantee it. Evaluate the specific test rather than assume that a price, a polished report or a familiar scale establishes validity.

A fifth word, official, is the one people search for most, and it is the one that applies to nothing. No British body designates an official IQ test. The Wechsler scales are published by a commercial company. Mensa is a private society. The NHS uses cognitive tests to answer clinical questions and does not certify intelligence. An official score in the UK is therefore a score that the particular reader in front of you accepts, and the rest of this page is organized around those readers.

2 Route One: British Mensa, In Person or Online, at 49 Pounds

British Mensa offers supervised admission testing in person and online, with a listed fee of 49 pounds for either route. Its current Test Yourself page was rechecked on September 24, 2026. Its Test Yourself page listed four products. The free online workout gives up to 15 minutes of questions and, in the society's own words, does not provide an IQ score. The Mensa Home Test is a 45 minute paper assessment sent by post for 15 pounds. It returns an indicative score that gives, again in the society's words, a good idea of how you might do in a full IQ test, and it qualifies nobody. The Supervised IQ Test in person costs 49 pounds and lasts about two and a quarter hours at test centers described as being throughout the British Isles. It produces an emailed IQ score, with an invitation to join for anyone in the top two percent. The Online Supervised IQ Test also costs 49 pounds, is listed at one and a half hours, and runs in what the society calls a fully proctored, secure online environment. Check the eligibility and age conditions of the selected route before booking; the provider lists a minimum age of 10 and a half for its supervised testing and UK or Irish residence requirements for the online service.

The instruments are named on the society's own site. Its myth busting article of January 20, 2023 describes the paper session using Cattell III B and Cattell Culture Fair III A. That older description must not be transferred to the newer adaptive online route, described separately on the current online page. The same article puts the threshold at the 98th percentile, which it describes as one in fifty. The Culture Fair test is nonverbal by design, and Irish Mensa's page for the same session states that a score in the top two percent on either paper brings an invitation. British Mensa does not print a numerical cut off on those pages. The number that circulates for the Cattell III B, 148, is consistent with the 24 point standard deviation of that scale. Mensa International's FAQ makes the same point in general terms when it says that a result of 132 on one test can be the same as 148 on another. Admission follows the society's accepted test and score rules.

The online version is newer and its rules are more specific. The Mensa Online IQ Test page describes two adaptive tests, a nonverbal diagrammatic test of fluid reasoning and a vocabulary test of verbal intelligence. The difficulty of each question adjusts to previous answers, and the test is completed in less than an hour. A score at or above the 98th percentile on either test or across both combined qualifies. The candidate needs a current photo ID, a passport or a full or provisional photocard driving licence, and proof of a UK or Irish address. The candidate also needs a Windows desktop or laptop with a webcam, microphone and speakers, and a quiet room, and the page states that the test cannot be taken on a MacBook. Proctoring runs through ProctorU with a secure browser. The earliest appointment is 48 hours after purchase and the test must be scheduled within 10 days of purchase. Results arrive within 10 days of the sitting, and a candidate below the threshold may resit after six months.

Where the in person sessions actually are is the question behind the search phrase IQ test near me. British Mensa's supervised test booking page, read on September 20, 2026 with every region selected, listed ten venues with their next dates. Bristol had a session on October 24 and Norwich on the same day. Birkbeck, University of London had sessions on October 31 and November 28, and Mortlake in south west London on October 11. Birmingham had October 3, Liverpool October 10, Manchester November 21 and York November 28. Dublin had October 17 and Belfast had February 20, 2027. The region filter offered the South West, London, East Anglia, Ireland, the North West, the North East and the West Midlands. No venue in Scotland or Wales appeared on that date, which is the reason the online version matters for a large part of the country. The schedule changes as sessions are added and fill.

Two more rules complete the route. Prior evidence is accepted instead of a session, for the same 49 pounds: a full educational psychologist's report, or documentary evidence of a professionally administered IQ test, assessed in four to six weeks. Mensa International's FAQ adds what that evidence must look like. The report must be on professional letterhead and signed, with the psychologist's license or registration number, the name and date of the test and the full score, and achievement tests are not accepted. Membership, once invited, costs from 68 pounds a year for an adult, 50 pounds for under 19s and 36 pounds for additional members of the same household, per the society's membership page. A person who passes therefore pays 49 pounds once and 68 pounds a year, our arithmetic on the two published figures. 3 Route Two: a Qualified Psychologist and an Appropriate Assessment

A qualified psychologist can provide an assessment that addresses a clinical or educational question, with the instrument selected for that purpose. The WAIS is one option rather than the only possible instrument. Pearson publishes the WAIS-IV UK and the WAIS-5 UK. The fifth edition listing gives a 2026 publication and staged availability for paper, scoring and digital administration. Product launch dates should be checked directly because service adoption can differ from a catalog release. Adult Wechsler scales cover ages 16 years 0 months through 90 years 11 months. Ask why the selected edition and country norms fit the referral. The adult Wechsler scale follows the same rule remotely: an official WAIS can be given online only when a qualified examiner controls the session, as our page on WAIS testing online sets out.

What changed matters to a UK client in a specific way. The WAIS-5 UK FAQ describes separate Visual Spatial and Fluid Reasoning index scores and 14 new ancillary index scores, including quantitative reasoning and a Non-motor Index. It lists five new subtests, Set Relations, Running Digits, Naming Speed Quantity, Spatial Addition and Symbol Span, and co-norming with the Wechsler Memory Scale, Fifth Edition. It also names two applications for the expanded index scores that a reader of this page may recognize: qualification for Access Arrangements, and admission to programs or organizations for intellectually gifted individuals. Those are descriptions of potential uses, not promises that Mensa or an exam board will accept every report. The receiving organization's requirements still apply. On the date read, the FAQ tab of that page still said the WAIS-5 UK was in development for late 2026, while the product listing said it was available now. The launch dates are the more specific statement and we report them.

Purchasing eligibility follows Pearson's qualifications policy; the relevant product listing identifies its level. Eligibility to purchase is distinct from statutory registration, professional competence and suitability for the referral. For a clinical or educational psychologist, check the protected title on the HCPC register. Check claimed Chartered Psychologist status separately with the BPS. Ask about training in the instrument and experience with the proposed assessment. Conversely, absence from a particular directory alone does not prove every kind of test use unlawful. The qualification, role, instrument and applicable rules must be considered together.

What the fee buys is time, and three practice pages read on September 20, 2026 show how the time is priced. GP Psychology, a practice in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, states on its IQ tests and cognitive assessments page that assessments start at 450 pounds for a standard cognitive assessment and report. That fee covers a two hour face to face session with the WAIS-IV and the time to write it up, and the page lists interest in one's own intelligence among the reasons a person may book. The Private Therapy Clinic in London lists a fee of 750 pounds on its cognitive assessment page, names the WAIS as its instrument of choice and says the administration is by its neuropsychologist. Cognition Clinical Psychology in Bedford lists a flat 1,200 pounds on its fees page for a learning disability assessment service. That service includes a developmental history, a full cognitive assessment with the WAIS-IV or WISC-V over four to six hours at home, a written diagnostic report and a one hour feedback session. The three figures describe three products rather than one market price: a measurement with a report, a measurement by a specialist in the capital, and a diagnostic evaluation in which the IQ test is one component. The report is the product. A competent report states the referral question, the instrument and edition, the conditions of testing, and each index score with its confidence interval and percentile. It closes with the examiner's interpretation over the examiner's signature and registration number. The receiving body evaluates the document against its own requirements, which may include assessor qualifications, test selection, findings, functional evidence and recency. A signature alone does not establish acceptance. A client who wants the report for Mensa should say so at booking. Mensa International's evidence rules, quoted above, require the letterhead, the registration number, the test name and date and the full score, and a report written without them may need to be reissued.

4 Route Three: NHS Assessment for a Clinical Question

NHS cognitive assessment depends on a clinical question and the relevant service pathway; it should not be treated as a general consumer IQ testing service. The NHS page on dyslexia in adults says assessment is usually carried out by an educational psychologist or a dyslexia specialist, and that most people need to pay for a diagnostic assessment. This documents one pathway, rather than a universal rule covering every cognitive assessment or every UK nation. Someone concerned about everyday functioning can discuss those concerns with the relevant health or educational service without first obtaining an online IQ score.

The NHS page on tests for diagnosing dementia describes brief cognitive assessments as one part of investigation. It names the General Practitioner Assessment of Cognition and discusses memory, concentration, language and orientation. Such tests cannot diagnose dementia alone. This does not mean NHS services use only screening tools: a specialist assessment may include more extensive measures when warranted. Assessment can also inform care planning or monitoring. Measures and referral processes depend on the service and concern, rather than a request for a consumer certificate.

If the concern is health, development or a change in functioning, describe the difficulty and its impact rather than assume IQ testing is necessarily the required investigation. The relevant clinician or service can advise on assessment and referral. For personal interest or society admission, other routes may fit. Neither a low nor a high home score should decide whether a health concern deserves discussion.

5 Route Four: a Normed Online Battery, Taken at Home

A documented online battery may suit personal exploration, while a formal use requires evidence and acceptance for that specific purpose. Supervision and technical documentation answer different questions. The International Test Commission's International Guidelines on Computer-Based and Internet-Delivered Testing, published in the International Journal of Testing in 2006, volume 6, issue 2, pages 143 to 171, distinguish four modes of administration. Open mode has no identification and no supervision. Controlled mode identifies the taker but does not watch. Supervised mode has a proctor present, and managed mode runs in a dedicated testing center. British Mensa's online test is supervised mode. Its in person test is supervised mode in a hired room. A psychologist's administration is managed or supervised by definition. A consumer battery taken at home is controlled mode at best and open mode at worst, and the guidelines are explicit that scores from less controlled modes support weaker interpretations.

Before selecting an online assessment, inspect its population, reference methods, score scale, reliability, reporting and retake policy. ACIS technical manual v1.4 describes a reference frame of 3,243 adult records and an analysis set of 2,750 complete records, with a factor model and composite reliability analyses. Those figures describe published work for the documented configuration. They do not promise identical precision for every current form or a later index change, including Layer Rotation in Visual Spatial. Match the administered version to its evidence. Acceptance must be established with the receiving body. British Mensa's approved supervised online test is an admission route; an unrelated unsupervised battery does not become one by using similar labels. For specific learning difficulty evidence under England's DSA rules, the required diagnostic assessment comes from a practitioner psychologist or suitably qualified specialist teacher. Other institutions and purposes have their own requirements. An online result can document performance under its stated conditions, but does not itself become a clinical judgment, diagnosis or professional recommendation.

Free access has several meanings. British Mensa's workout is practice and explicitly does not return an IQ score. ACIS's five free subtests are assessment tasks supplying results within the trial's stated scope; they should not be called measurement free because no payment is taken. A partial battery is not automatically a complete Full Scale assessment. Similarly, another free test may have useful evidence or significant limitations. Check the actual tasks, norms and reporting rather than equate free with invalid or assume paying removes limitations.

Every UK Option Side by Side: Cost, Time, Paper and Acceptance

Start with purpose and report requirements, then compare cost and time. The table retains the September 20, 2026 price snapshot, with British Mensa's main offers rechecked September 24. ACIS prices remain in US dollars because the sterling amount depends on payment date, conversion and fees. The table does not guarantee acceptance by an unrelated organization.

The lower Mensa fee buys a different service from private clinical assessment. The society assesses admission eligibility; a professional evaluation addresses a referral and may need history, additional measures, interpretation and recommendations. NHS assessment follows a clinical pathway. An online battery offers another service with its own scope. Prices should not be ranked as though all routes sell the same report. 6 For Students: What Universities and Student Finance Actually Ask For

For student support, identify the relevant scheme and evidence requirements before commissioning a test. An isolated IQ score differs from a diagnostic assessment. England's DSA eligibility guidance specifies a diagnostic assessment from a practitioner psychologist or suitably qualified specialist teacher for specific learning difficulties. Other conditions have different evidence routes, such as medical documentation. A university or college may help with the cost of a new assessment. These are England's rules, not one policy for every university or all UK funding. Read the applicable application guidance and contact the institution's support service before paying.

A useful assessment addresses the presenting difficulty, relevant history, current skills and functional consequences using appropriate measures. It should not be reduced to a universal requirement for a discrepancy between IQ and attainment. Nor does a professional signature alone determine support. The institution or funding scheme evaluates its required evidence, and exam access arrangements follow their own criteria. A publisher can describe possible uses for an instrument, but cannot grant a student an adjustment. A Mensa result or personal online profile may be part of someone's history without replacing the diagnostic or functional evidence a particular process requires.

What an ability score predicts for a student is documented in a British sample larger than any other. Deary, Strand, Smith and Fernandes followed more than 70,000 English children from a cognitive abilities test at age 11 to GCSE results at 16. They reported in Intelligence in 2007, volume 35, issue 1, pages 13 to 21, a correlation of 0.81 between a latent general intelligence factor and a latent educational achievement factor. The general factor accounted for 58.6 percent of the variance in Mathematics, 48 percent in English and 18.1 percent in Art and Design. Of children at the mean level of ability at 11, 58 percent went on to five or more GCSEs at grades A star to C. The figure was 91 percent for those a standard deviation above the mean and 16 percent for those a standard deviation below. For Adults: What a Score Is For When Nobody Is Asking for It

For personal interest, consider what the measurement can support and whether knowing the result will answer a useful question. A documented score identifies its reference population and scale. On a normal model with mean 100 and standard deviation 15, approximately 68 percent lies between 85 and 115 and about 2.3 percent above 130, our arithmetic. Those are properties of the assumed model, not a current survey of everyone living in Britain. A selected sample or a population assessed on another reference framework need not average 100. A useful report explains uncertainty with the appropriate method for its instrument, form and score. ACIS manual v1.4 contains published composite analyses, but a single SEM from that analysis should not be presented as the precision of every current form. Confidence intervals can also differ in construction, as the estimated true score intervals on Wechsler reports illustrate. Overlap is not itself a formal test of a difference between two people or two indices; the relevant covariance and comparison method matter. A profile can add information beyond the composite, but its usefulness depends on the question and the evidence supporting the particular interpretation. A verbal index above a speed index does not, on its own, explain why someone finds reading easier than timed forms. Those activities involve additional skills and conditions. No route becomes the best choice merely because it prints more numbers.

Select the route from the purpose, access needs, budget and intended reader. For personal interest, compare the evidence and scope of free and paid options before deciding whether testing is worthwhile. For Mensa, use the society's approved session or prior evidence procedure. For another organization, establish its requirements first rather than assume only one type of professional can provide the needed document. A specialist teacher, psychologist or medical professional may have a role depending on the process. 7 For Employment: What UK Law Allows and What Employers Actually Use

An employer may use cognitive assessment, but requirements and lawful implementation depend on the selection process and jurisdiction. A privately purchased IQ certificate is not automatically a substitute for an employer's assessment. In Great Britain, section 19 of the Equality Act 2010 addresses indirect discrimination and its justification, including whether a provision, criterion or practice is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim. This is not a complete legal test for every recruitment assessment. Section 20 addresses reasonable adjustments for disability. The appropriate adjustment depends on the circumstances; neither a diagnosis nor an IQ score automatically specifies extra time. Northern Ireland has a separate equality framework, as the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland explains. Check the relevant process and request adjustments through its stated channel.

A recruitment process may specify a particular assessment, norm group, administration method and interpretation. Ask the employer what is required and what accommodations are available before purchasing an unrelated test. Some processes use cognitive measures alongside interviews, work samples and other evidence; the quality of the decision depends on the whole procedure. It would be inaccurate to claim that every employer uses a validated system or that none accepts any external evidence. The BPS runs a Register of Qualifications in Test Use, described on its find a psychologist page as the official record of test users who hold its qualifications in educational, forensic or occupational test use. An employer or consultancy that administers occupational tests in the UK will often employ or contract a person on that register. A candidate who is asked to sit a test can reasonably ask which test it is and who is qualified to interpret it. Do not assume a personal score can replace the required assessment; confirm any alternative with the employer. 8 Under 18: Age Rules, the Children's Wechsler Scale and Educational Psychologists

Age rules depend on the instrument and service, not simply on whether the person is under 18. British Mensa lists supervised testing from age 10 and a half, with prior evidence as a possible route for younger applicants under its rules. Check accompaniment, identification and route specific requirements before booking. A professional assessment needs an instrument with an appropriate age range and suitable evidence for the referral. Adult Wechsler scales begin at 16, so a 16 or 17 year old is not automatically outside every adult assessment. An online product's eligibility, consent and intended use also need to be checked separately.

The children's instrument is the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fifth UK Edition. It was published in 2016 for ages 6 years 0 months to 16 years 11 months at qualification level C, according to its Pearson Clinical UK page. Product component prices should not be mistaken for the cost of a complete assessment kit or a clinical appointment. The adult scales begin at 16 years 0 months, so a 16 year old can be tested on either, and a psychologist chooses on the referral question. The examiner for a child is usually an educational psychologist, one of the HCPC's nine protected titles. The Bedford practice quoted above prices a WISC-V based learning disability assessment at the same flat 1,200 pounds as the adult version. The NHS page on dyslexia in children, reviewed on March 11, 2026, says a first step is the school's special educational needs coordinator. It says that an educational psychologist or a specialist teacher usually does the assessment, and that most people have to pay for it.

Children's assessment must account for development, language, access needs and the question being asked. A score does not substitute for educational history or observed functioning. ACIS documentation covers ages 16 to 90 and therefore does not support extending its adult norms to younger children. That does not establish that all online child assessment is impossible, nor that every concern requires one particular Wechsler instrument. A parent seeking educational support can contact the school or an appropriately qualified assessor to identify the evidence needed. For someone aged 16 or 17, overlapping instrument ranges require professional judgment rather than an automatic switch based on a birthday alone.

9 Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland

HCPC registration is UK wide, while health pathways, student funding and parts of the legal framework differ by nation. Protected practitioner titles should be checked on the register wherever the UK service is based. England's NHS and DSA pages cannot establish the exact service pathway or funding evidence rules in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Use the relevant national service and funding guidance. Northern Ireland also has a separate equality law framework, so the employment discussion above identifies the territorial limit of the Equality Act provisions. For an assessment intended for a particular recipient, ask that recipient which local qualifications, report contents and procedures apply.

For an in person Mensa session, consult the current booking system and its available regions. The recovered September 20, 2026 snapshot listed Belfast and Dublin dates but no sessions in Scotland or Wales; that is a dated booking observation, not proof that no other arrangements or future sessions exist. A candidate can check later dates or contact the society, and an eligible person may consider the supervised online route if its equipment requirements can be met. Avoid planning travel from a copied venue list without confirming the booking directly.

Irish Mensa's test dates page describes paper testing and directs bookings to British Mensa's system. That practical connection does not make every professional or legal requirement in the Republic of Ireland identical to those in the UK. HCPC regulates UK practitioner titles; it is not a register for all Irish practice. For a report prepared in Ireland and submitted to an organization elsewhere, confirm the assessor qualifications, instrument, supervision and documentary requirements with the recipient. Normed scale conventions also should not be confused with a measured national population average.

10 What No Route Removes: Norm Age, Practice and Measurement Error

Norms, previous exposure and measurement error matter across assessment routes. An edition's age is relevant, but the change in a person's score cannot be estimated by multiplying calendar years by a historical Flynn effect. Flynn's research on British Raven scores concerns particular child cohorts and a particular measure; it does not provide an adult WAIS conversion. A new edition can change tasks, scoring and composite composition as well as norms. The page on the Flynn effect explains why group trends should not be turned into individual corrections. Ask which edition and country norms apply and how any comparison with earlier testing will be made.

The second is practice. Estevis, Basso and Combs retested 54 healthy adults on the WAIS-IV after three or six months and reported the result in The Clinical Neuropsychologist in 2012, volume 26, issue 2, pages 239 to 254. Full Scale IQ rose by about 7 points, with gains of about 5 on Verbal Comprehension, 4 on Working Memory, 5 on Perceptual Reasoning and 9 on Processing Speed, and the interval made little difference. British Mensa separately states a six month resit rule for unsuccessful online candidates, and ACIS documents its own retake controls. These policies should be followed, but the study does not establish the provider's reason for choosing a specific interval. Previous exposure can affect a second score on the same instrument, and a report that does not mention a recent prior administration is missing a fact the reader needs.

Measurement uncertainty is a further consideration. The appropriate interval depends on the score and method; a symmetric range of approximately two SEMs is one classical illustration, not the rule used by every publisher. Threshold decisions can be sensitive to ordinary score variation, but this page cannot calculate a candidate's pass probability without the relevant test model. Mensa applies its published admission and retest policies. A professional report should explain the uncertainty relevant to its conclusions, while an online report should identify the score and method being used. Neither a point estimate nor an interval captures every possible effect of language mismatch, compromised administration or prior exposure.

11 Ten Minutes of Checking Before You Pay Anyone in the UK

A short initial check can prevent buying the wrong service, although some questions require a direct response from the provider. The key checks depend on whether the service is a society test, professional evaluation or online battery. For a psychologist, search the HCPC register for the name and confirm a protected title. The HCPC says on its regulation note that using one without registration is a criminal offence, which makes the register the single most useful page in this subject. Then check the BPS directory if the practice describes the examiner as chartered. The society states that it cannot endorse or recommend individual members and that verifying background and qualifications is the user's responsibility. Then ask three questions before booking: which instrument and which edition will be used, whether the report will include index scores with confidence intervals and the examiner's registration number, and what the fee covers. The three practices quoted above priced three different products, and the question settles which one you are buying.

For Mensa, read the society's own pages rather than the pages of anyone selling practice. Confirm the fee, which was 49 pounds on the date read, confirm the age rule, and confirm what is returned, since British Mensa sends a score and American Mensa, for one, does not. If the purpose is prior evidence rather than a session, read Mensa International's evidence rules before commissioning a report. The report then arrives with the letterhead, the registration number, the test name and date and the full score. And read the equipment list for the online test before paying for it, because the page states that a MacBook cannot be used.

For an online battery, read the technical documentation before the sales page. Find the norm sample and its size. Find the reliability of the score you will pay for and the standard error that follows from it. Find the scale, the ceiling and the retake policy. Find how items are protected and how invalid attempts are handled. Find the refund terms and read the exclusions, because that is where policies live, and check whether the price is one time or a subscription before entering a card. If important documentation is missing, the intended interpretation is harder to evaluate. Request clarification or choose a provider whose evidence addresses your purpose; a missing public page does not itself prove that no measurement occurred. 12 Where ACIS Sits for a UK Buyer, and What to Do

We sell ACIS, so this section carries a commercial interest. It is a self administered online battery with its own items, forms and technical documentation, not a clinical report or an examiner signed WAIS administration. We do not offer it as a British Mensa admission route. Technical manual v1.4 describes a reference frame of 3,243 records, an analysis set of 2,750 complete records, a factor model and reliability analyses. These are published analysis results for the documented configuration. Subsequent form or index changes, including Layer Rotation in Visual Spatial, require version matching before quoting precision for an individual result. A familiar scale and several domain scores do not make assessments interchangeable.

The September 20, 2026 price snapshot lists Quick with 6 subtests at 15 US dollars, Optimized with 13 at 30 dollars, and Full Scale with 20 at 50 dollars. Their estimated durations are about 45, 110 and 175 minutes, respectively. Custom access is priced by selected subtests. The current order page should be checked for inclusions, reporting, access period and guarantee terms. Five free subtests supply results within the trial's scope. For a UK buyer, the final sterling amount depends on the actual payment conversion and any applicable fees. A historical exchange rate is not a guaranteed checkout price. Select coverage for the question being asked rather than infer that the most extensive form is always necessary.

Self administration does not provide an examiner's observation of the session or a clinical interpretation of the person's history. ACIS uses completion requirements, retake controls and integrity checks within that setting. Its norming method must be read from the manual; browser delivery does not establish that its sample is self selected or not stratified. The age and language requirements also matter, even on tasks with little reading. Do not extend adult norms to younger children or assume a language mismatch can be corrected by ignoring verbal results. The appropriate choice depends on the person and purpose, and a receiving organization decides whether an external result meets its requirements.

First identify who needs the result and for what decision. For Mensa, use its approved testing or prior evidence process. For student support, an employment adjustment or another formal purpose, obtain the actual evidence requirements before selecting an assessor. For a health or functional concern, discuss the concern with the relevant professional rather than treating an online result as a gatekeeper. For personal exploration, compare free and paid options on their evidence and coverage; choosing not to test is also reasonable when a number would not answer a useful question. A commercial label such as official does not substitute for this preparation.
